Shivath
Long ago, before paths were worn into the earth and before maps charted the lands, the world of Shivath was vast and unknown. In those times, travelers journeyed without guidance, and many became lost in the wilderness of their own fear and uncertainty. Among the gods, one being emerged to lead those who sought new selves—to discover and forge identities through the process of journeying.
This was Elos, a lesser deity whose influence shaped the inner transformations that accompany every great journey.
It is said that Elos began his life as a mortal, born into a world that did not reflect their inner truth. In his heart, he knew that their true self was waiting at the end of a long journey. With courage, they left behind the life he was told to live and set off, crossing the vast lands and seas of Shivath, the Angra Mainyu and beyond, learning from every trial, reshaping themselves in body and soul until, at last, he emerged not as the person they were born, but as the person he knew themselves to be. In completing his journey, Elos ascended into the divine realm, vowing to guide and protect others who walk the path of transformation.
In the world of Shivath, there is an ancient tradition known as The Path of Becoming, a revered journey inspired by Elos’ own odyssey. This sacred pilgrimage involves traveling from one significant location to another, often through varied and challenging terrains, with the purpose of renouncing the old self and embracing the new. Those who embark on this journey may do so for a variety of reasons: spiritual, physical, or emotional transformation. Many people in Shivath honor this tradition as a form of rebirth, choosing to emerge in a new place, recognized in their true form.
The Path of Becoming is a gift: an opportunity for those who seek to step into the world as their authentic selves. The journey itself is deeply personal, and no two paths are the same. For some, the journey is long and arduous, symbolizing the internal struggle that comes with self-acceptance. For others, it is a brief but powerful transition, a moment of clarity in which the old constraints are shed, and the true self is celebrated.
At the end of the path, there is often a Rite of Becoming, a communal or personal ritual where the traveler is welcomed by a new community or by those they hold dear, honoring their transformation. This rite is a moment of rebirth into a world that acknowledges and respects their true identity.
