Make a ranged spell attack against a creature within range as you fire a projectile of eldritch energy from your eye. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 necrotic damage. If you score a critical hit, you can reroll any roll of 4 or lower on the damage die until you get a higher result.

At Higher Levels

This spell's damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).
